Who said marketing has to be fancy? It just has to be effective, right?
Julian A. Lewis II, founder of StudioPod, a full-service podcast media and production company, joined the final episode of (Re)Sessions to discuss how when things get tight with the budget or your team is dramatically reduced, it’s time to take a step back and make things easier for your content marketers.
Think about how you’re getting your best ideas and rebuild processes around that. Audit your content hub to see what’s working and how best to measure effectiveness. Plus, Julian gives us some tips on how to get your sales team to actually leverage all the content you’re creating.
For each episode, we like to highlight some key takeaways. Think of it as a podcast outline or live show notes. Here are just a few of the takeaways that really stood out to us in this episode.
For a while there during the pandemic, everything was disrupted. Customer behavior changed, brands had to react and develop new strategies. For content marketers, that meant expanding into the channels where their audience was at. But in terms of what format is most valuable to the audience, think back over the last couple years and ask yourself these questions:
"We want to make sure we can speak their language,” Julian says in the episode. “We want to understand the pain points they're going through."
Julian’s advice is to go directly to the source and ask your customers. They'll tell you how you can help. Then you create content around that.
When asked what's exciting in marketing today, Julian said, "Being able to track activity. We can ultimately say, this is driving business, and it's helping you grow."
We've all felt that awkwardness of sitting across from our CEO and not being able to prove the value of our work. Ugh. Now with amplified marketing and platforms like Casted, you can finally measure what's successful and what's not.
You have lots of content, right?
Julian recommends creating a hub where it's organized and searchable by your product, marketing and sales teams. Don't let your older content go to waste. Mine it. Organize it. And enable your team to use it in their customer outreach.
